Have you ever been inside of a kiln? No? Come take a guided tour through the Medalta Potteries site!
Our knowledgeable interpreters will take you through our many spaces, passing on the stories we have discovered about the Historic Clay District. How do beehive kilns work? How many fires tried to claim Medalta Potteries? Learn these stories and more.
Tour Information
Guided tours vary in length from 60 to 75 minutes depending on group size and the amount of questions. The tour route is on one level and accessible for visitors with mobility concerns. The museum is dusty and is mostly without air conditioning. The tour route takes visitors inside the museum buildings, not outside around the site. Visitors are welcome to carefully explore certain parts of the exterior of the site. (But watch out for our snake friends and the gopher holes!)
Maximum 10 people per tour.
